It speaks to the presumed dimwittedness of consumers, on the part of marketers, that infomercials exist.
Marketers believe that if their claims are repeated often enough - and loud enough - those claims will
eventually be accepted. Similarly, the reasons we Americans are continually given for continuing the war
in Iraq have gradually come to be accepted as valid. Nothing could be further from the truth.
